By riders for riders
We are just two brothers that enjoy riding mountain bikes. And as it happens, we grew up in the "Mountain Kingdom".
Lesotho is filled with footpaths & horse paths that are formed by people transporting goods with donkeys & horses and hiking from village to village. The problem is with finding the best paths and turning them into a fun ride. So! We ride, ride, and then ride some more. We find the best footpaths, we figure out how to link them into a longer trail. At that point we add the route to Trailforks for anyone to ride. The route is still 100% natural, when we find the time and have the funding we go through and modify the footpaths. We widen, maintain, and even completely reroute sections of footpath. All this turns the footpaths into fun, rideable singletrack. We eventually want every route to be modified footpath to make for a better experience. |
We try to consider everything when putting together a new route. Who is this trail for (difficulty)? Where do we want the trail to take you (destination)? What is the takeaway from this trail (memorable viewpoints & riding sections)?
Footpaths don't offer the "maximum" downhill filled with berms and jumps. These trails are an escape from the everyday mundane. These trails are an adventure.
We try our best to fill every ride with views, culture and a sense of freedom.
We don't have any funding apart from the contributions of all the awesome riders that come and enjoy the trails.
We charge a daily ride fee to make up for fuel costs, lunch for the crew and to hire some more manpower.
We aren't here to make money, but we do hope that RAW Lesotho could one day provide jobs and boost tourism in Malealea and Lesotho.
If you love what we are doing and want to support it, we do take donations.
The donations we get allow us to continue growing, add more trails and start building more man-made trails. Plus we get to wreck a few more tyres by skidding a little more on the gravel roads.

Get to know us
If you want to get to know us and see a little more of what we do. We have a YouTube channel where we share our adventures and trail building. We don't show what's going on with RAW Lesotho and we don't show the everyday trail building we do for the main public trails but we do show how we are building "Project RAW" which will be public in the future and we share all the epic rides and adventures we go on.
